On March 31st, the EXP Team volunteered for a full day at a Habitat for Humanity new 10-cottage community build site, to help families unlock the power of homeownership. When completed it is estimated that this project will provide safe, affordable, decent housing for up to 45 adults and children.
We had three teams, and worked on three different projects that involved exterior insulation, and foundation work for three of the new homes. It was hard work, but by the end of our day, we all shared a sense of ownership and pride in the work we completed for the community and the future homeowners. We were in good hands with the guidance of our awesome AmeriCorps Construction Volunteer Leads and our stellar Construction Site Manager. Building a permanent home with your own hands, made a lasting impact on all who participated.
