Annie Searle, "The Risk Detective," joins EXP Technical for a fascinating discussion. She will speak about emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and the associated risks to your business.
The conversation will focus on emerging threats to business continuity posed by artificial intelligence, malicious insiders, external cyberattack, and more.
Annie Searle is an author, entrepreneur, teacher, and internationally known expert in operational risk management. She has extensive experience in the financial, IT and business sectors.
From 1999 to 2009, while a senior executive at Washington Mutual, Searle focused on international financial infrastructure resiliency, including pandemic readiness, cyber threats, technology and biological restoration.
She has been a teacher in the University of Washington's School of Information since 2009. Annie Searle is currently an associate teaching professor emeritus, who offered courses on enterprise risk and cybersecurity, and a course on ethics, policy and law in information management.
She is a member of the emeritus board of the Seattle Public Library Foundation, where she served for 12 years. From 2020-2022 she participated in the government's pandemic mitigation efforts. She was part of the Seattle Disaster Management Committee, with FEMA's supply chain efforts. She also worked with the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
Earlier in her career, Searle was co-founder and CEO of Delphi Computers & Peripherals. For 15 years, delivering custom hardware and solutions to companies as diverse as Vulcan Ventures, Harborview Medical Center, Boeing Aerospace, Longacres Racetrack, and Seattle Mystery Bookstore. For her work at Delphi, she won the 1992 Northwest Woman Entrepreneur Award as well as a Matrix Table “Woman of Achievement” award in 1994.
